TransPRK (Trans-epithelial Photorefractive Keratectomy)
TransPRK is an advanced one-step incision-free laser vision correction procedure. The vision correction only takes 60 seconds or less each eye. Utilizing cool ultraviolet light and high energy pulses, this is the only surface treatment where the eye avoids coming into contact with any surgical instrument minimizing the risk of corneal dehydration and speeding up the healing process. This procedure is considered to be the most advanced, saving more corneal tissue.
The Schwind Amaris 750s with Smart Surface Technology and Wavefront analyzer is what our surgeons use to perform TransPRK. This machine offers the leading technology for your laser treatment, standing to be superior in all aspects for it’s speed, precision, safety, and comfort. The Amaris has a built in eye tracker which monitors the position of the eye with approximately 1050 measurements per second. A multitude of international clinical studies have documented the excellent treatment quality of the Schwind Amaris technology. Visual acuity of 100 percent or better was achieved in nearly all cases.
