what is a floater?
A floater is described to be threads, specks, cobwebs and cloud-like images that occasionally move across your visual field.
Floaters are actually small particles within the gel inside the eye that become noticeable when they fall within the line of sight.
As we age, floaters can become more common. The vitreous gel gradually liquefies and takes up less space. This causes the sac containing the vitreous gel to gradually separate from the rear eyewall, and results in collagen clumps breaking into pieces, casting a shadow on the retina.
